FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — The City of Franklin is giving a heads up to residents about an upcoming park closure.
Early next month, city officials said Pinkerton Park will undergo some major repairs and will need to be closed to perform them.
From Monday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 12, the city will close the park in order to do the repairs safely and efficiently. Crews will be doing milling work, making spot repairs, paving and striping the two parking lots and both park entrances from Highway 96.
The crews will be moving in with heavy equipment, so it was important for residents to stay off the property as a safety measure. The canoe launch will also be closed during the construction, but residents can still get on the river at Ladd Park, Eastern Flank, or Harlinsdale.
While Pinkerton is closed, the city is encouraging residents to check out other parks in Franklin. A full list of Franklin parks can be found here.
