NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A meeting was held Thursday night for a highly anticipated project in one part of Davidson County, and residents can now be directly involved in the process.

Metro Council member Joy Styles is sharing a way the community can stay up-to-date on the future of Starwood Ampitheatre.

Styles said Metro Nashville will be providing some streetscapes for the new Starwood site. During the meeting, residents were able to see building materials and paint colors of the new theater along with a new feature of a QR code, where people can share memories and memorabilia from the past.

Styles said she was very intentional about the new feature. She said she wants the site to pay homage to the past while acknowledging the needs for the present and for the future of the area.

Starwood is an addition to the arts and entertainment district in Antioch, an area that Styles said she's aiming to continue to grow for the area, so residents have both work and play options.

The amphitheater will hold performances, a rehearsal space and even a few new restaraunts. Styles said that instead of traveling 30 minutes for food and shopping, this new site welcomes people back to Antioch.

“These three sites really transform our area," Styles said. "We will now have three sites where people can go, hang out and do different things without having to leave Antioch, so that’s a pretty awesome feeling.”

Last term, Styles focused on keeping the Tanger Outlets at Century Farms on track for opening so neighbors and visitors can enjoy. But she said this term is all about getting Starwood completed. Styles said that after construction begins, she anticipates the reopening of Starwood to take around four years.
