Description
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Federal Aviation Administration has lifted a ground delay that affected flights at Nashville International Airport due to staffing shortages, according to officials.
The airport announced Sunday morning that the ground delay program on incoming flights was lifted, and that the FAA has since implemented a "flow control program." Officials advised travelers to monitor their flight status and contact their airline for updates before arriving at the airport.
The advisory was initially issued Friday, Oct. 31. Travelers at BNA saw delays averaging 67 minutes to 116 minutes.
According to the FAA, the ground delays were implemented to “control air traffic volume to airports where the projected traffic demand is expected to exceed the airport’s acceptance rate for a lengthy period of time.”
