LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities in La Vergne are seeking video footage an incident that occurred along Interstate 24 Tuesday morning, which led to one driver being robbed at gunpoint.
According to the La Vergne Police Department, the incident happened sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the westbound lanes of I-24 between Sam Ridley Parkway and Waldron Road.
Officials said the suspects, who were traveling in a black Toyota sedan, brake-checked a black Chevrolet Camaro and threw eggs onto the windshield, which obstructed the driver's view and caused him to pull over to the right shoulder.
At some point, two suspects wearing masks, gloves and armed with pistols reportedly got out of the Toyota and robbed the victim at gunpoint. After the robbery, police said the suspects fled and continued westbound on I-24 toward Nashville.
Anyone with additional information or video footage of the incident is asked to contact the La Vergne Police Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau at 615-287-8667, or Rutherford County Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP (7867).
