FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — More growth is coming to Franklin.
Tuesday night saw developers for a major project near the heart of the city share their vision with residents.
The plan involves a mixed-use development with 184 residential units on a property located on Franklin and Harpeth Industrial roads, near The Factory at Franklin.
Developers said they plan to preserve the hilltop on the land and create a trailhead that highlights the site's historical significance.
During a Tuesday night public meeting, representatives from development firm Gamble Design Collaborative met with people living within 500 feet of the property to discuss their plans.
However, nothing is set in stone yet.
Gamble Design still has to fill out a formal application, which will need to be approved by the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission on July 24.
The developer's application will also include a public hearing process.
Public hearings in Franklin do not include a question-and-answer session, but the city said there will be time for that at the planning commission meeting in July.
