NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Dates for a special election in Tennessee have been set as Democrats and Republicans continue to make their bid for a position in Washington, D.C.

The special election comes after Congressman Mark Green announced his retirement from public office for an undisclosed private sector job, which he called "too exciting to pass up."

The district includes 14 counties in Middle and West Tennessee, including: Benton, Cheatham, Davidson, Decatur, Dickson, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Perry, Robertson, Stewart, Wayne and Williamson.

  • Primary Election (for Democrats and Republicans): Oct. 7, 2025
  • General Election: Dec. 2, 2025
