Description
WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A man was taken into custody after local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies worked together to investigate multiple arson incidents in Middle Tennessee and Kentucky.
The Wilson County Sheriff's Office said its detectives have been investigating a series of arsons that happened in recent weeks. While none of the fires resulted in injuries, each property was "completely destroyed and considered a total loss," according to authorities.
Over the course of the investigation, officials said they discovered similar arson incidents took place across multiple localities during the same time period, including Spring Hill, Davidson County, and parts of Kentucky.
Due to the multi-jurisdictional nature of the case, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives have reportedly helped the sheriff’s office and the other agencies involved.
On Thursday, June 5, law enforcement announced the investigation led to the arrest of Charlie Aguayo, who is being held in the Wilson County Jail on an $80,000 bond. The Antioch man faces three counts of arson and one count of criminal trespassing.
The sheriff's office said detectives have also identified "juvenile co-conspirators," but no additional details have been released about this ongoing investigation.
