NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - On Monday, we expect scattered storms to push in during the afternoon heat.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed our western and northern counties under a Marginal Risk (category 1 of 5) for severe weather. A few of the storms could produce gusty, damaging winds, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.

More scattered storms will push in on Tuesday ahead of a frontal system. Though there is no risk for Tuesday, for now, from the Storm Prediction Center, a few of those storms could be strong, as well.

Behind those storms, there is a little good news. Although temps will be warm behind the front, there will be a slight lowering of the humidity for the second half of the week, with dew points dropping from the very humid 70s to 60s. It's not a big change, but you should notice it!

In the drier air, temps will still reach the low 90s, but the heat index values or "feels like" temps will not be as excessive as last week.

Right now, the Fourth of July forecast looks warm, but dry.
