NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A search for a suspect is underway Wednesday morning after a teenager was shot in East Nashville, according to Metro Police.
The incident was reported around 4:30 a.m. on South 5th Street.
According to officers at the scene, a white sedan drove into a lot and a passenger exited the vehicle. The passenger then fired several gunshots in the direction of the victim.
The victim, who is believed to be 17 years old, was standing in a doorway when they were struck in the head. Officials said the victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.
Authorities said a search is underway for the white sedan. No additional information on a suspect was immediately released.
