CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) -- A woman was killed and a man was injured in a crash along Interstate 169 after reportedly stopping to change a flat tire in Christian County Sunday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Fire/EMS announced shortly before 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 27 that crews were responding to a collision at mile marker 22 of the Pennyrile Parkway, which is part of I-69. Officials said initial radio traffic indicated there were three patients, with bystanders performing CPR on at least one of them.
According to WKDZ Radio, Kentucky State Police said a car was heading northbound in Crofton when the driver stopped to change her tire, but she was hit by another vehicle while she was outside of the car. The crash reportedly sent the second vehicle off the road and killed the driver changing the tire.
The radio station said first responders brought the male passenger from the car with the flat tire to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment.
According to Hopkinsville Fire/EMS, as of 2:19 p.m., the northbound side of the Pennyrile Parkway is closed at Exit 11.
