Woman in Wheelchair Struck by Semi in Downtown Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, TENN. – According to officials in Springfield, a woman in a wheelchair was struck by a tractor trailer at low speed Monday afternoon at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Main Street in downtown Springfield, near the Robertson County Courthouse, the first call coming into 911 at 11:48 AM.
According to Robertson County EMS Director Brent Dyer, the woman was transported to TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The only visible damage to the wheelchair was two flattened tires.
According to Springfield Public Information Officer Zachary Clark, a cause of the crash was not imedatally avalable, the incident remains under investagation.
