NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The gym of a popular West Nashville park collapsed Saturday.
Firefighters responded to the collapse around 7:45 p.m. at the West Park Community Center on Morrow Road.
According to the Metro Board of Parks and Recreation, the gym had been fenced off for several months, so no one was inside at the time. No injuries were reported.
Officials said the building was determined to be safe, and next steps for the facility are now being discussed.
The center's Summer Enrichment Program will now take place June 2 through June 27 at Westwood Baptist Church on Charlotte Pike and at Cockrill Elementary School from June 30 to July 22.
