Traffic Stop in Greenbrier Leads to Drugs & 2 Wanted Suspects

GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News): A routine traffic stop in Greenbrier on Thursday evening led to the arrest of two individuals wanted on outstanding warrants.

According to Detective Joseph Chelini with the Greenbrier Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired registration.

The driver, identified as Kevin Thomas, was found to have active warrants out of Nashville for aggravated assault. He was taken into custody without incident.

The passenger, identified as Alexis Jones, was found to be in possession of marijuana and MDMA (ecstasy) inside her purse. Further investigation revealed she also had active warrants out of Robertson County for failure to appear. Additional warrants were discovered out of Clarksville, with details pending confirmation, police said.

Both individuals were transported to the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield TN, where they were booked on their respective charges. Jones is being held under a $20,000 bond. Thomas was a hold for another agency, so he was not booked into the Robertson County Detention Facility.
