Thanksgiving Day Fire Leaves Springfield Home Heavily Damaged

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – A Thanksgiving Day fire left a Springfield home heavily damaged after the back side of the house ignited. The home is located in the 300 block of Lish Lane, MAP the first call coming in to 911 around 3:16 p.m.

Officials tell Smokey Barn News that they believe the fire started in the back part of the house and spread from there.

The Springfield Fire Department arrived in record time and aggressively attacked the fire, which was already fully involved upon their arrival. Although they brought the fire under control quickly, about 50 percent of the home sustained some level of fire, smoke, or water damage.

Dan Gislao of Springfield captured this dramatic footage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported; however, the fire left the home unlivable, and power was disconnected for safety reasons. The family was put in contact with the American Red Cross. Should they reach out to the community with any need they have, we will bring it to you. A fire in your home is bad, but just weeks before Christmas makes it all the more heartbreaking.

Springfield Fire, Robertson County EMS, Robertson County EMA, and Springfield Police all responded to the call.
