PLEASANT VIEW, Tenn. (WKRN) — Students with Sycamore High School clubs and organizations are inviting the Cheatham County community to join them on a walk on Wednesday evening to spread suicide awareness.
The SHS clubs Students Against Destructive Decisions and Health Occupations Students of America are hosting a memorial walk at Veterans Park in Pleasant View at 5 p.m. for the second year.
According to the school system, the walk is an opportunity to remember those lost to suicide, to raise awareness of the prevalence, and to stand together in healing and hope.
The Cheatham County Enhancement Coalition is partnering with the school for the second year to put on the event.
Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to paint Rocks of Hope to place along the path, as well.
Additionally, the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network will be on hand to provide valuable education and intervention resources.
