NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday the Severe Prediction Center has issued chances for strong storms across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.

The greatest risk day appears to be Tuesday ahead of a potent cold front that will provide a much needed break in the storm risk and humid temperatures.

Sunday, a Marginal Risk, level 1 out of 5, has been issued west of I-65 and south of I-40. Isolated strong thunderstorms are possible. The biggest storm threats will be gusty winds and heavy downpours. Some small hail can't be ruled out.

A few thunderstorms will pop up through the midmorning and then again in the afternoon. Not everyone will have storms.

Monday, A Marginal Risk, level 1 out of 5, has been issued across Middle TN and Southern KY. Some scattered thunderstorms could be strong. Storms will be a bit more widespread than Sunday.

Storms are likely through the early morning. This could affect your commute to work and school. A break in showers happens through lunch time, but more storms could bubble up in the afternoon.

Sunday and Monday storm threats are low, but gusty winds and heavy downpours are possible for those who have storms. Small hail is possible, but not likely. The tornado threat is extremely low.

The strongest storms are likely on Tuesday. An Enhanced Risk, level 3 out of 5, has been issued for most of Middle TN. All modes of severe weather are possible, including the chance for a few tornadoes.

These storms roll in ahead of a cold front which will bring in mild conditions for the middle and end of the work week. Highs will drop from the mid 80s to the upper 60s and lower 70s.
