ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Robertson County resident is asking area shooters to exercise caution after a bullet struck his home off North Pinson Road.

Albert Burton, who has lived in the area for many years, said a .30-30 round lodged in the side of his house recently. Fortunately, no one was injured. Burton told Smokey Barn News he frequently hears gunfire in the rural area and understands it comes with the territory, but he hopes neighbors will be more mindful of where their rounds are going.

“I just want to remind shooters and hunters in our area to make sure you have a clear idea what your background is,” Burton said. “We had a .30-30 round ricochet into our house.”

Burton stressed that he is not angry at anyone, noting that he is glad people enjoy hunting and shooting, but said he hopes this serves as a reminder to be careful. If you’re out shooting, just be real clear on what’s beyond the treeline or beyond the area where you’re shooting. Please be a little more cautious, he said.

According to Burton, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office responded and recovered the round, though determining exactly where it came from will be difficult given the size of the area.

Homeowner Albert Burton points to the hole left in his home by a .30-30 round.
