NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 36-year-old motorcyclist has died after being involved in a crash in Madison Sunday afternoon.
A press release from the Metro Nashville Police Department said the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Gallatin Pike South.
A preliminary investigation showed that a Toyota Rav4 slowed down to turn right into a parking lot when a motorcycle struck the truck from behind. Police said the motorcyclist was ejected from his Harley Davidson; though he was transported to Skyline Medical Center, he died from his injuries. There were no signs of impairment at the scene, police added.
Hours earlier, the MNPD reported that a Brentwood teen had died following a crash on Old Hickory Boulevard Saturday afternoon. On Friday night, another motorcyclist was died following a multi-vehicle crash along Interstate 24. On Tuesday night, another motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash — also along Old Hickory Boulevard — and sparked renewed calls for greater traffic safety on the roadway.
Efforts are underway to notify the motorcyclist's next-of-kin, the MNPD added, and as such his identity has not yet been made public.
