The MNPD said 42-year-old Amgad Bekhit disagreed with his 16-year-old daughter about a relationship with a teenage boy. She alleged Bekhit struck her and tried to choke her with one hand for a few seconds.

Officers who arrived at the scene observed she had marks on her face, neck and hands and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
