NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Detectives have charged an officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department with aggravated assault after an argument with his teen daughter allegedly escalated from verbal to physical.
The MNPD said 42-year-old Amgad Bekhit disagreed with his 16-year-old daughter about a relationship with a teenage boy. She alleged Bekhit struck her and tried to choke her with one hand for a few seconds.
Officers who arrived at the scene observed she had marks on her face, neck and hands and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
A judicial commissioner set Bekhit's bond at $10,000. The MNPD said he's been with the department for four years, but was decommissioned "during the night" and is subject to an investigation by the Office of Professional Accountability.
