NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Homicide Unit detectives are investigating what led to a fight that caused the death of a 25-year-old Nashville man.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the fight took place on Church Street near Printers Alley at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, May 24.
When officers arrived, they found Oliver McConnell, 25, unconscious. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was diagnosed with a critical head injury. McConnell died over the weekend, according to MNPD.
The investigation to this point shows McConnell was involved in a fight with two other men, who were identified through witness accounts and surveillance video. MNPD detectives have interviewed both men, according to police.
An autopsy will be conducted on McConnell later this week, MNPD said in a release. No charges have yet been placed as the investigation continues.
