NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Nashville is one day away from the 52nd annual CMA Fest, which is expected to bring close to a million people to Music City. As a result, safety remains a top priority.
The Metro Nashville Police Department hosted a press conference outside of Nissan Stadium on Wednesday, June 4 to discuss the hundreds of officers and other first responders that will work this weekend. Local authorities are also working with federal law enforcement partners to maintain a safe environment.
"Right now, we don't have any credible threats to the event. We've been in contact with Homeland Security and FBI," Metro Police Chief John Drake said.
With the next three days bringing a risk of severe thunderstorms in parts of Middle Tennessee, there is also a plan in place to help people find shelter at CMA Fest if there's any severe weather.
Metro police also encourage everyone to stay hydrated, drink responsibly, and avoid wandering away from your group. In addition to law enforcement and other emergency responders, Red Frogs will be out and about to help visitors.
