PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A Putnam County house was seriously damaged after a blaze broke out Wednesday evening.
The Putnam County Fire Department said it responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 16000 block of Buffalo Valley Road around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4.
According to officials, the initial caller reported seeing heavy smoke coming from the second floor. When Putnam County EMS arrived, they also noticed heavy flames showing from the roof.
Firefighters said they got to the scene shortly afterward and "launched an aggressive attack to contain and extinguish the blaze" from both inside and outside the house.

Because of the fire's advanced stage, the limited water sources, and the home's distance from a staffed fire station, officials said the structure sustained so much damage that it's considered a "total loss."
No injuries were reported from this incident. However, the department said crews stayed at the scene for approximately five hours to make sure the fire was fully extinguished and complete overhaul operations.
No additional details have been released about this blaze.
