NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The very first hotel in 12South is officially open.

The 99-room boutique-style hotel is right in the middle of the popular 12South strip.

The hotel sits on the corner of Gilmore and 12th Avenue S, right across from Urban Grub to the north and Frothy Monkey to the west.

The managers said they're excited to pioneer the hotel experience in the growing neighborhood.

The hotel, called The Gilmore, was one an apartment and condominium building in 12South.

Over the last 18 months, developers have completely transformed it.

The hotel offers one- to four-bedroom suites, each room having its own kitchen.

The Gilmore General Manager Chris Delgado told News 2 it's a cool feeling to be the first hotel in the neighborhood. He says now having a hotel in area speaks to its growth.

"This feels like its own destination now. Before us being here or any other hotel, folks would come in and go. Now they can come in and stay and utilize the space from the morning into the evening because we're here to provide accommodations," Delgado said.

The hotel plans to have live music that will eventually be open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays.
