NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly strangled an employee of Cook Out in Midtown Nashville.

According to court documents, officers responded Saturday after a fight was reported at the restaurant on West End Avenue.

A man who worked at the restaurant told authorities Adrian Lamar Sharkey, 33, had put his hand in a tip jar and attempted to remove cash. When the employee attempted to stop him and offered him a cup of chili, Sharkey reportedly became irate because "it was not the right food." Two employees repeatedly asked Sharkey to leave, and eventually guided him outside to the parking lot.

The altercation allegedly turned physical when Sharkey began punching one of the employees. According to reports, Sharkey had the employee in a headlock and strangled him until a passerby stopped to help separate them.

Documents said Sharkey told the workers he would "come back and shoot up the place."

Sharkey left the area after the altercation, but returned while officers were on the scene. While speaking with law enforcement, Sharkey claimed the altercation started after he went back into the store because he was given the wrong food and the employees refused to give him a refund.
