NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An Alabama teenager has been arrested in connection with the January 2023 murder of 23-year-old Jonathan Seda in Nashville.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 19-year-old Brandon Long of Decatur, Alabama, is the suspected killer of Seda. The deadly shooting happened on Jan. 31, 2023, inside a vacant home along the 3200 block of Crowe Drive.
Officials said Long learned he was wanted in Nashville from Alabama authorities and surrendered at the MNPD headquarters.
Long is now charged with criminal homicide at Juvenile Court as he was 16 when Seda was killed, according to the MNPD.
Officials said that the investigation revealed that Long was visiting Nashville at the time of the deadly shooting and "lured Seda and his brother" to the basement of the vacant home on Crowe Drive "for a suspected drug transaction."
According to the MNPD, Seda was shot and killed, and Seda's 18-year-old brother was wounded. Seda's brother did recover from his injuries.
Police said Long admitted to the shootings on Thursday and is being held pending a detention hearing in Juvenile Court.
